Case Event Type Code Fields
The following fields are available when maintaining case event type codes.
Code and Description
Field Name Field Description
Show This Code for Location Select this check box to enable the code for the selected location.
Code The code word you previously entered is displayed here, but you can enter a different code if needed. If you enter a code word that has already been assigned to another code, a warning message is displayed as codes must be unique.
Code words can contain numbers and uppercase or lowercase letters. You can also include periods, dashes, underscores, or parentheses. The word ALL cannot be included in the code word, regardless of case.
Description Type a description for the code.
Effective Information
Field Name Field Description
Mappings (ALT+M) If mapping is available for the code, click this link to map codes in Odyssey to state-specific codes.
Effective Date If the code should not become available until a later date, enter that date in this field.
Obsolete Date If the code ever becomes obsolete (meaning it is no longer used) or will become obsolete at some point in the future, enter an obsolete date.
The code is considered to be inactive when it reaches the obsolete date and remains obsolete until the date is removed or changed to a future date. When a code is made obsolete, it is no longer accessible to the users and cannot be selected.
Case Categories
Type the case category code in which this code should be available. Separate each code with a comma or semicolon. Type All to include all available codes. Click Image or press F4 to search for and select multiple codes.
System-wide Case Type Behavior

Base Event Select the base event you want to associate with this case event type.
Aging Clock Behavior Select the way you want the case aging clock to be affected with this case event type.

Base Event Select the base event you want to associate with this case event type.
Location Case Event Types Behavior

Migrate Click this link to migrate the data from another location.
Base Event Select the base event for the case event type.
Event Group Click Image to select the event groups to associate with this case event type.
Document Type Select the document type to associate with this event type.
Then, select the Display on Event check box if you want this document type to display when the case event type is used.
Workflow Path Select the workflow path to associate with this event type.
Then, select the Display on Event check box if you want this document type to display when the case event type is used.
Defaults
Field Name Description
Docketable Select this check box to make this event type docketable by default.
Include Document Index # Select this check box to include the document index number on this case event type by default.
Include on Appeal Select this check box to include this event type on appeals by default.
Change Case File Date to Event Date Select this check box to change the case file date to the event date by default on this case even type.
Case Parties for Party Additional Field Select this check box to allow parties on the case with the specified base connection key to be added to the additional Party field.
Then, from the Base Connection Key field, click Image to select the base connection key.
Case Parties for Party 2 Additional Field Select this check box to allow parties on the case with the specified base connection key to be added to the additional Party 2 field.
Then, from the Base Connection Key field, click Image to select the base connection key.
Default Event Status Select this check box to select a default event status to be added to the case event.
Then, from the drop-down list, select the event status to be added.
Comment Type any additional comments related to these defaults.
Click Image to modify the comment paragraph.
Additional Fields
The Additional Fields section allows you to add or delete any additional fields you want to be displayed when the case event type is used. Click Image to add or delete the additional fields.
After adding the fields, decide whether the additional field should be optional or required.
Validation Fields
Click Image or click an existing item to select the field codes that require validation on this case event type.
Case Status
Click Image or click an existing item to select case statuses to add to cases with this case event type.
Statistical Closure
Click Image or click an existing item to select statistical closures to add to cases with this case event type.
Due Date
Field Name Description
Calculate Due Date Select this check box to calculate the due date on the case event.
From the Calculate From drop-down list, select the from date from which you want the calculation to occur.
In the Number of Days field, type the amount of days you from which to calculate the due date.
Avoid Weekends/Holidays Select this check box to ensure that the due date does not occur on a weekend or holiday.
From the Resource and Reason drop-down lists, select the resource calendar to validate against and the reason to avoid the holiday.
Require Due Date Select this check box to require a due date on this case event type.
Form Information
Click Image or click an existing item to select form information to add to cases with this case event type.
Case Flags
Click Image or click an existing item to select case flags to add to cases with this case event type.
Security Groups
Click Image or click an existing item to select security groups to add to cases with this case event type.
Background Color
From the drop-down list in the Background Color section, select the background color to associate with this event type.
Print Barcode
Field Name Description
Enable Print Barcode Functionality Select this check box to enable barcode functionality with this event type.
Default Event to Print Barcode Upon Initial Add Select this check box to print a barcode when this event type occurs.
Image Expected with Event Type Select this check box to add an image to the barcode with this event type.
Collect Status Add
Click Image or click an existing item to select collection statuses to add to cases when this case event type is added.
Collect Status Complete
Click Image or click an existing item to select collect statuses to add to cases when this case event type is completed.
Service Defaults
Click Image or click an existing item to select service defaults to add to cases when this case event type is completed.
Party Caution Flags
Click Image or click an existing item to select the caution flags to be added or removed on a party when this case event type is completed.
