Posting Charge Reductions

Charge reductions are transactions that reduce specific charges and balances. They do not affect escrow on a case. For example, if a citation was issued and the normal fine is $100, the judge might order that the defendant only pay $75 because of an inability to pay.

To post a charge reduction:

Access the Add a Charge Reduction dialog box by clicking

from the following places within Odyssey:

•

From the Balances view or the Transactions view of a case’s Financial tab

•

From the account Search Results page after marking accounts

•

From a party’s Financial tab

Enter the appropriate information in the charge reduction transaction fields displayed.

Click Save (ALT+S).
