Case Detail Tab Fields
Complete the fields displayed on the Detail tab of a case record.
Case Detail
Field Name Field Description
Style
The name of a case is determined by the style entered in the Style field on the Detail tab.
You can type the style directly in the space provided and click Image for additional space. The style is displayed at the top of each case tab, and any changes you make are immediately reflected on the case tabs.
Auto Style Select this check box to use a style determined by system settings. If this check box is selected, the Style field is disabled.
Case Type
Field Name Field Description
Case Type You must select a case type before a new case record is displayed. The case type cannot be changed after the new case is saved.
Subtype
Type the appropriate subtype code in the space provided, or select an available subtype from the drop-down list.
You can also place your cursor in the Subtype field, and press F4 to search for and select a subtype code.
File Date Enter the date when the case was filed.
If you select a future date, a warning message is displayed.
Security
Certain types of cases require higher levels of security. If you want to assign a security flag to the case, type the security code, or select a security code from the drop-down list.
You can also place the cursor in the Security field, and press F4 to search for and select a security flag code.
Case Assignment
Complete the fields in the Case Assignment section, or click the current case assignment to modify it. Click Reassign to move the case to another location.
Judicial Officer Assignment
The name of this section is system-defined. If you are adding a case, complete the fields in the Judicial Officer Assignment section to add a judicial officer to the case. When modifying a case, click Image or an existing officer to enter the details.
Case Cross-Reference Numbers
If you are adding a case, complete the fields in the Case Cross-Reference Numbers section to assign a cross-reference number to the case. When modifying a case, click Image or an existing cross-reference number to enter the details.
Reporting Category
Click Image in the Reporting Category header to select the reporting category codes associated with the case.
Case Status
If you are adding a case, complete the fields in the Case Status section to assign a status to the case. When modifying a case, click Image or an existing status to enter the details.
Complainant Detail
Field Name Field Description
Complainant Click Image to search for a complainant on the case. After a complainant has been found, click the link in this field to view additional party details.
Address After a complainant has been found, the address is displayed in this section.
Phone After a complainant has been found, the phone number is displayed in this section.
Case Flags
Click Image in the Case Flags header or an existing case flag to enter the details.
Additional Barcodes
Click Image in the Additional Barcodes header or an existing barcode to enter the details.
Related Cases
Click Image in the Related Cases header or an existing related case to enter the details. Active related cases are displayed in blue and inactive related cases are displayed in black.
