Adding Freestanding Charges to Case Records
Freestanding charges can be added to case records
1. Add a new case or access an existing case.
2. Access the Charges tab in Case Manager, or Detail tab in Supervision.
3. Click Imagein the Charges section.
Freestanding charges are associated with a bond or warrant that was created prior to the existence of a case. If a party on a case does not have any freestanding charges, the Add Charge Detail dialog box is displayed and a new charge can be entered.
4. Select the charge to be added to the case.
Note: If the charge is not displayed, click Add New Charge link to add a charge on the Charge Detail dialog box.
5. Click Next.
6. Select the charge and action to be taken with the charges selected (merge the unlinked charge with an existing charge, or add the charge as a new charge on the case) on the secondary Add Charge Record dialog box.
Note: The Add Charge Record dialog box displays the prosecutor control number. This allows you to verify charge selection before merging, by comparing the prosecutor control number when multiples exist for the same party.
7. Confirm your action and click Save.
Warning: If you are merging a charge with another charge on the case, once this action is completed, it cannot be undone once you confirm the action.
8. Edit Charge Information if necessary.
9. Click Save.
