Warrant Detail Tab Fields
When adding or maintaining a warrant, the following fields are available on the Detail tab.
Warrant Detail Tab
Field Name Field Description
Party Click Image to search for a party.
If you are adding the warrant through a party record or modifying an existing warrant, the party's name is automatically displayed
Warrant # Enter the unique warrant number that corresponds to the warrant you are adding. After an "issued" status is assigned to the warrant, the warrant number cannot be changed unless you have the right to modify issued warrants.
For those jurisdictions that issue warrants prior to the existence of a case, there is a need to generate a warrant number for each warrant issued. Your system can be configured to automatically generate system-assigned warrant numbers. If so, System Assigned is displayed in this field, and a Manual override check box is shown to the right. If you have the proper rights, you can select Manual, and enter a bond number in the Warrant # field.
Much like case numbers, your administrator can configure warrant numbers. As with case numbers, your administrator must have the rights to override the system assigned number. This feature does not change how warrant numbers are generated when the warrant is created from a case. The warrant still receives a warrant number that is the case number plus a sequence number if configured.
Depending on your system's setup, a count number may be added to the end of the warrant number to prevent duplicate warrants from being entered.
Type Enter the appropriate warrant type code, or click the arrow to select a warrant type from the list. Press F4 to search for and select a warrant code.
When you select a warrant type, the default initial status for that type of warrant is inserted on the Status tab of the warrant record.
After an "issued" status is assigned and saved, the warrant type cannot be changed unless you have the right to modify issued warrants.
Administrative Owner Click Image to select a location where the warrant was issued.
If you are adding the warrant through a case, the location associated with the case is inserted.
If the selected judge is only associated with one location, that location is inserted.
