For those jurisdictions that issue warrants prior to the existence of a case, there is a need to generate a warrant number
for each warrant issued. Your system can be configured to automatically generate system-assigned warrant numbers. If so, System Assigned is displayed in this field, and a Manual override check box is shown to the right. If you have the proper rights, you can select Manual, and enter a bond number in the Warrant # field.
Much like case numbers, your administrator can configure warrant numbers. As with case numbers, your administrator must have
the rights to override the system assigned number. This feature does not change how warrant numbers are generated when the
warrant is created from a case. The warrant still receives a warrant number that is the case number plus a sequence number
if configured.
Depending on your system's setup, a count number may be added to the end of the warrant number to prevent duplicate warrants
from being entered.
