Batch Job Details
Jobs may be coded as a batch if they perform multiple tasks. Even though there are several small tasks that make up a job, they are displayed as one line in the job processor.
Batch jobs have Image displayed beside the description on the Job Queue and Job History pages.
When you select a batch job in the history, information about that job is displayed in the Job Detail dialog box, which allows you to view information about the selected batch. This includes the information displayed in the job table as well as when the batch was sent to the queue, when the batch was started, the batch’s priority, how many times the job was restarted, and which server is processing it.
All of the jobs that make up the batch are also displayed on the Job Detail dialog box. Click a job in the table to access the Job Detail dialog box for a single job. The job detail information displayed depend on if you access the batch job from the queue or history.
The options at the top of the batch dialog box are similar to the ones on the Job Detail dialog box for a single job. The main difference is that these links apply to all of the jobs within the batch. Depending on what the final status of the batch was and the options used when the batch was processed, the following options may be available at the top of the Job Detail dialog box for batch jobs.
Option Description
View Output This option is available if a file was saved when the job was processed. The following options are available:
•  If an online report is generated, click this link to view the report in the standard Odyssey Assistant report viewer. You can then print the report from the viewer.
•  If a form was processed and saved, click this link to view the form in the Odyssey Assistant Word viewer. You can then print the form from the viewer.
•  Use this link if text or data was saved when the job was processed. If the output was text, the Windows Save As dialog box is displayed. Use this dialog box to name and save the file so you can easily locate it.
If you want to be able to view the data in Microsoft Word or another word processor, save the file with a text extension (.txt). If you want to be able to view the data in Microsoft Excel or another spreadsheet program, save the file as a comma-separated values (.csv) file. You may have to manually type in the ".csv" extension at the end of the file name.
View Messages Jobs can have several types of messages attached to them. An error does not have to occur when the job was processed for messages to be attached. Select this option to access the View Job Messages dialog box.
View Parameters If the system used additional dialog boxes and other options when processing the job, this link is available. Click it to access the View Job Parameters dialog box.
Retain Batch / Mark Batch for Purge Jobs are typically purged after a certain number of days. If you do not want a job to be removed from the Job History page, you can mark it so that it stays there. Use this option to mark the jobs you do not want deleted from the Job History page. When you select this option, Image is then displayed beside the job name on the Job History page.
After a job has been retained, select Mark Job for Purge to manually release the job for the next appropriate purge.
Re-Queue Batch If you want to rerun a batch job exactly as it was the first time it was sent to the job processor, select this option to place the job back in the queue. When you select this option, Odyssey displays the name of the user that re-queued the batch job instead of the user who ran the original job in the User field of the new job.
Previous / Next If there are more jobs in the batch than can fit on the dialog box, use these links to navigate through the list of jobs.
