Judicial Officer/Magistrate Code Fields
Complete the following fields to maintain judicial officer codes. Depending on your system’s setup, the judicial officer may be referred to as a magistrate.
Code and Description
Field Name Field Description
Show This Code for Location Select this check box to enable the code for the selected location.
Code The code word you previously entered is displayed here, but you can enter a different code if needed. If you enter a code word that has already been assigned to another code, a warning message is displayed as codes must be unique.
Code words can contain numbers and uppercase or lowercase letters. You can also include periods, dashes, underscores, or parentheses. The word ALL cannot be included in the code word, regardless of case.
Description Type a description for the code.
Effective Information
Field Name Field Description
Mappings (ALT+M) If mapping is available for the code, click this link to map codes in Odyssey to state-specific codes.
Effective Date If the code should not become available until a later date, enter that date in this field.
Obsolete Date If the code ever becomes obsolete (meaning it is no longer used) or will become obsolete at some point in the future, enter an obsolete date.
The code is considered to be inactive when it reaches the obsolete date and remains obsolete until the date is removed or changed to a future date. When a code is made obsolete, it is no longer accessible to the users and cannot be selected.
Case Categories
Type the case category code in which this code should be available. Separate each code with a comma or semicolon. Type All to include all available codes. Click Image or press F4 to search for and select multiple codes.
Judicial Officer Details
Field Name Field Description
Judicial Officer Type From the drop-down list, select the type of judicial officer being added.
Title Select the appropriate title from the drop-down list.
First & Middle Type the first and middle name of the individual.
Last Type the last name of the individual.
Suffix If necessary, select the appropriate name suffix from the list (e.g., Jr.).
E-mail Type the e-mail address for the party. Click Image to send an e-mail to the party.
Home / Ext. Type the home phone number for the individual and the extension if necessary.
Work / Ext. Type the work phone number for the individual and the extension if necessary.
Fax / Ext. Type the fax number for the individual and the extension if necessary.
Cell / Ext. Type the cell phone number for the individual and the extension if necessary.
XRefID Type the cross-reference ID number for the judicial officer being added, if necessary.
Address
Complete the appropriate address fields.
Location

Default Click Image to select the default location for all case types for the judicial officer being added.
Click Image in the Default Exceptions section to select additional locations where specific case types for the selected judicial officer’s cases can be assigned. Once selected, additional locations are displayed in a stacked list in this section.
Resource Schedule Details

Make Schedule Private Select this check box to make the schedule for this location private.
Set List of Users Click this button to select a set of users who have the ability to view the schedule for this resource if it has been made private.
After adding users, the Available to Users table is displayed. On this table, select the check box corresponding to the options you want to make available to the user. Your options include View, Schedule, Maintain, and Override. Add additional users by clicking Image and selecting the users.
Attorney Conflicts
Click Image to add any attorney judge conflicts that may exist with the judicial officer being added.
