Journal Entry Fields
Complete the following fields to maintain journal entries on courtroom minutes.
Journal Entry Fields
Field Name Field Description
Time The time stamped for the journal entry is automatically entered by the system in this field. It may also be manually entered. Journal time stamps determine the order of display in the View Journal dialog box (reverse chronological order).
Type (ALT+T) Click to select another journal type. The types are a listing of the most common entries posted by the court (facilitating rapid journal entry). Journal types are setup by the court's system administrator.
If another journal type is selected from the drop-down list, the new selection replaces (wipes out) any previously entered types and text in the text box. However, depending on your system's setup, you can append new information to previously entered data when you select a new option in this field.
Textbox Enter and/or append additional text for the journal entry.
Follow up Check box for setting follow-up reminders and actions due for journal entries.
If there are follow-up journal entry items set for a hearing, a blue-highlighted results clipboard icon Image displays in three additional sections in Odyssey:
•  Summary tab: clicking the actions due link displays the Modify Hearings dialog box.
•  Hearings tab: this is a visual clue and is a non-clickable icon.
•  Modify Hearings dialog box: clicking on the results clipboard icon displays the Courtroom Minutes dialog box.
If it is also marked as not viewable, a blue Image is displayed in these locations.
Follow-up reminders remain on the case until they are cleared from either the View Journal or Modify Journal Entry dialog boxes.
Once a follow-up designation is removed, the blue-highlighted results icons in the additional sections in Odyssey are removed as well.
Viewable Select this option to make the journal entry viewable via the Public Access site. If this option is not selected, a green Image or blue Image is displayed on the Summary tab, Hearings tab, and Modify Hearings dialog box.
Spell Check (ALT+C) Click this button to check the spelling of the information you entered using Microsoft Word spell check functionality.
