Fee Adjustment Fields
Field Name Field Description
Date When posting fee adjustments, the current date is automatically displayed in this field.
Enter the date when the adjustment takes place. You cannot enter a future date here. If you do not have the right to backdate transactions, this is shown as view only.
Show Amounts/ Show Adjustments There are two ways to view the adjustment amounts on the Enter an Adjustment on Case dialog box. Which of the following views you choose determines how the adjustment information should be entered:
•  Select Show Amounts to see the actual amount of each fee, payment, and credit. When in this view, enter the actual amount that you want a fee to be changed to. For example, if you want to change a fee from $45 to $30, click the cell that contains the fee amount and enter 30.
You can also adjust a fee by indicating how much that fee should be increased or decreased. For example, if a fee is $20 and it should be increased by $10, enter +10 to increase the fee by that amount. To decrease a fee by $10, enter -10. This is referred to as a relative result. After you enter the adjustment, the end result of the fee amount is displayed.
After a fee is adjusted, Image is displayed next to the amount if it was adjusted up, and Image is displayed if the amount was adjusted down.
•  Select Show Adjustments to see only the amount of the adjustments and how the adjustments affect the fee columns on the screen. For example, if a fee was decreased by $10, the screen displays -10 in the fee column instead of the actual amount of the fee. Fee increases are displayed in green, while fee decreases are displayed in red.
Fees that have not been adjusted are not displayed when in the Show Adjustments view. When in this view, you do not have the option to enter new amounts; you can only enter the amount of the increase/decrease for the fee.
Show Indirect Fees Indirect fees are fees that were paid to a third party and are being recorded by the clerk but for which the clerk did not receive any direct payment. Select this check box to show indirect fees. These fees are identified with Image in the Fee Schedule column. Information for indirect fees is only displayed in the Charges column.
