Offense codes can be configured to have a default offense degree.
To configure a default degree for an offense code:

Select Administration from the navigation menu. Select Offenses from the System Codes section. Select Offense Codes. |

Select one of the following methods:

Click  to create a code, and enter a code word.

Click an existing code to modify. |

In the System-Wide Offense Code Behavior section of the Add a New Offense dialog box, click  beside the Degree field to select the degrees for the offense, and select the default degree from the Default Degree drop-down list. |
When the configured offense code is added to a charge, the offense degree selected from the
Default Degree drop-down list is automatically added to
Degree field on
Add Charge dialog box.
Note: You can still change the Degree field after the default degree has been added. All degrees configured for the offense code are still available.
