The case copy function allows you to create a skeleton case from an existing case. This will create a new case of the same
type from the selected existing case using any defaults from the Case Type setup for the new case.
The following applies to the new case copy:
|
• |
The new case is of the same type as the selected existing case, using any defaults from the case type configuration for the
new case, including case number, first status, and default events. |
|
• |
The new case is linked to any active parties and their attorneys. |
|
• |
The current date is used as the added date for the new case. |
|
• |
Case party data, such as the case correspondence address, is copied to the new party. |
|
• |
If the case is a criminal case, a new charge is created with a case filing offense history record by copying the current offense
history record on the existing case. |
