Payment Type Code Fields
Payment Type codes indicate the types of payment accepted by the office (for example, "Deposit from Party", "Payment", "Credit" or "Waiver"). The following fields are displayed when configuring these codes.
 
System-Wide Code and Description Fields
Field Name Field Description
Show this code for Location Select this check box to enable the code for the selected location.
Use for API only Select this check box to indicate that the code is only for use with an application program interface (API).
Code The code word you previously entered is displayed here, but you can enter a different code if needed. If you enter a code word that has already been assigned to another code, a warning message is displayed, as codes must be unique.
Code words can contain numbers and uppercase or lowercase letters. You can also include periods, dashes, underscores, and parentheses. The word ALL cannot be included in the code word, regardless of case.
Description Type a description for the code.
Mappings (ALT+M) This option is not available for all codes. If mapping is available for the code, click this link to map codes in Odyssey to state-specific codes.
System-Wide Effective Information Fields
Field Name Field Description
Effective Date If the code is not available until a specific date, enter the date that the code becomes available.
Obsolete Date If the code becomes obsolete (meaning it is no longer used) or will become obsolete at some point in the future, enter an obsolete date.
The code is considered to be inactive when it reaches the obsolete date and remains obsolete until the date is removed or changed to a future date. When a code is made obsolete, it is no longer accessible to the users and cannot be selected.

Base Financial Category
From the drop-down list, select the base financial category in which this payment type is available.
Payor Type
Select either Payor or Account for this payment type.
Enable Reserve Case Numbers Select this check box to enable reserve case numbers.
Desired Result of Payment Type Application Fields

Add to Payments / Add to Credits / Add to Charges
Select a result.
The Impact of Selection table displays the effects of this selection.
Desired Auto Distribution Fields
Select whether to use Weighted Proration or Reverse Weighted Proration as the distribution method.
Note: This section is available if you select Case Fees from the Base Financial Category drop-down list.
Over and Under Payment Thresholds Fields
Field Name Field Description
Underpayment Threshold Amount Type an amount to use as the underpayment threshold for the payment type.
Prompt for Create Charge Adjustment Dialog Select this check box to prompt for the Create Charge Adjustment dialog box for this payment type.
Overpayment Threshold Amount Type an amount to use as the overpayment threshold for the payment type.
Prompt for Select Change Due Method Dialog Select this check box to prompt for the Select Change Due Method dialog box for this payment type.
Apply Threshold Select the check boxes for each case type that should have a threshold applied. From the drop-down list, select the threshold for that case type.
Note: This section is available if you select Case Fees or Miscellaneous from the Base Financial Category drop-down list.
Payor Type
Select whether to use Payor or Account for this payor type.
Note: This section is available if you select Registry from the Base Financial Category drop-down list.
Location Payment Types Behavior Fields

Default to Manual Distribution for Payment Plans
Select this check box to default the payment type to manual distribution for payment plans.
Use as waive credit type
Select this check box to use this payment type as a waive credit type.
Use as Community Service Credit Type
Select this check box to use this payment type for community service credit.
When selected, credit is applied toward the community service allowable fees first based on the configured proration. Any remaining credit is applied based on the configured proration in the selected community service credit type.
Location Payment Types Behavior

Default to Manual Distribution for Payment Plans
Select this check box to default the payment type to manual distribution for payment plans.
Use as waive credit type
Select this check box to use this payment type as a waive credit type.
Use as Community Service Credit Type
Select this check box to use this payment type for community service credit.
When selected, credit is applied toward the community service allowable fees first based on the configured proration. Any remaining credit is applied based on the configured proration in the selected community service credit type.
Use specific receipt pool for this payment type Select this check box to use a specific receipt pool for the payment type. Selecting this option makes the Location and Receipt Pool fields available.
Location Click Image to select the location of the receipt pool.
Receipt Pool From the drop-down list, select a receipt pool to use for the payment type.
Use OFM mapping for this payment type
Select this check box to use OFM mapping for the payment type. Selecting this option makes the Location and G/L Account fields available.
This configuration allows the user to map the payment types (withdrawal transactions) to specific G/L Accounts in Financial Manager.
Location Click Image to select the Financial Manager location to use for the payment type.
G/L Account From the drop-down list, select a liability G/L account to use for the payment type.
