Litigation Control Orders Code Fields
Litigation Control Orders codes indicate the setup of the litigation controls orders' time lines. The following fields are displayed when configuring these codes.
System-Wide Code and Description Fields
Field Name Field Description
Show this code for Location Select this check box to enable the code for the selected location.
Use for API only Select this check box to indicate that the code is only for use with an application program interface (API).
Code The code word you previously entered is displayed here, but you can enter a different code if needed. If you enter a code word that has already been assigned to another code, a warning message is displayed, as codes must be unique.
Code words can contain numbers and uppercase or lowercase letters. You can also include periods, dashes, underscores, and parentheses. The word ALL cannot be included in the code word, regardless of case.
Description Type a description for the code.
Mappings (ALT+M) This option is not available for all codes. If mapping is available for the code, click this link to map codes in Odyssey to state-specific codes.
System-Wide Effective Information Fields
Field Name Field Description
Effective Date If the code is not available until a specific date, enter the date that the code becomes available.
Obsolete Date If the code becomes obsolete (meaning it is no longer used) or will become obsolete at some point in the future, enter an obsolete date.
The code is considered to be inactive when it reaches the obsolete date and remains obsolete until the date is removed or changed to a future date. When a code is made obsolete, it is no longer accessible to the users and cannot be selected.
Case Categories
Type the case category codes to include. Separate each code with a comma or semicolon. Type All to include all available codes. Click Image or press F4 to search for and select multiple codes.

The fields displayed in the System-Wide Litigation Control Orders Behavior section depend on the options selected in the Case Categories field.

Available for Case Flags Click Image to add the case flags to which the litigation control order should be made available.
Available for Case Types Click Image to add the case types to which the litigation control order should be made available.
Use for Criminal Cases with no LCO flag Select this check box to use this code for LCO-eligible criminal cases without LCO flags.
Use for Civil Cases with no LCO flag Select this check box to use this code for LCO-eligible civil cases without LCO flags.
Use for Family Cases with no LCO flag Select this check box to use this code for LCO-eligible family cases without LCO flags.
Use for Probate/Mental Health cases with no LCO flag Select this check box to use this code for LCO-eligible probate or mental health cases without LCO flags.
Litigation Control Order Form
The fields displayed in the Litigation Control Order Form section depend on the options selected in the Case Categories field.

Criminal Form Click Image to select the form used to print criminal litigation control orders.
Civil Form Click Image to select the form used to print civil litigation control orders.
Family Form Click Image to select the form used to print family litigation control orders.
Probate/Mental Health Form Click Image to select the form used to print probate or mental health litigation control orders.
Data Deadlines
Field Name Field Description
Data Deadlines Table This table displays the data for the offset for the trial.
Activity/Hearing This column displays the hearings or activities for which there is a date deadline.
Offset in Days This column displays the number of days ahead of a response date there should be for hearings, or the number of days prior to the trial or hearing date for items that are not hearings. Click in the Offset in Days column and type the number of days needed for the offset of the activity or hearing.
Additional Action This column is used to add and display additional actions to be taken on this litigation control order. Click Image to modify a hearing configuration or an event configuration.
