TRN | Type the TRN. |
FPN | Type the fingerprint control number (FPN). The FPN must be either eight numeric characters or 13 alphanumeric characters. |
# | The next successive charge number is automatically assigned to the charge, based on the number of charges that are added on the case. |
Prosecuting Agency | Select the prosecuting agency for the charge. The agencies available are only those with a type of prosecutor and linked to the jurisdiction code selected. |
Code | Type the appropriate offense code. Click the arrow to view a list of codes, or press F4 to find a code. On the Select Codes dialog box, you can enter information in the Statute and Degree fields to make the search more specific. You can also limit the code displayed using the Effective Date field. If the offense is repealed, it appears gray and italicized.
Odyssey checks to make sure the selected offense code was valid at the time of the offense date entered.

Statute | When an offense code is set up through the Administration option, the corresponding statute number can be assigned. If a statute number is assigned to the selected offense code, that number automatically displays. A new statute number can be entered if needed. |
Offense Date | Enter the date when the offense was committed. |
To | If the offense was committed over a range of days, enter the starting date in the Offense Date field and the ending date in the To field. Click ![]() |
On or About | Select this check box if you do not know the exact dates when the offense was committed, signifying that the dates entered are estimates. |
Defendant | If there are multiple defendants on the case, Odyssey prompts to select a defendant before adding the charge. The selected defendant's name displays and cannot be changed. |
Degree | Type the appropriate offense degree code. Click the arrow to view a list of codes, or press F4 to find a code.
If only one degree can be associated with the selected offense code, that degree is automatically displayed.

Description | The description associated with the selected offense code displays; however, changes can be made to the description if needed. |
Time | Type the time of the occurrence. |
To | If the offense was committed over a range of time, enter the starting time in the Time field and the ending time in the To field. |
At or About | Select this check box if you do not know the exact time when the offense was committed, signifying that the times entered are estimates. |
GOC | Use the drop-down menu to select the appropriate general offense code. Click the arrow to view a list of codes, or press F4 to find a code. |
Fine $ | Type the fine amount. |
Bond | Type the bond amount. |
