A cause of action refers to the reason why a civil case is added. Plaintiffs can file actions against defendants. Defendants
can file counter actions against plaintiffs, and cross actions against other defendants.
Case Manager provides a way for you to enter multiple causes of action and remedies sought for a single civil case under the
Causes tab. Cause information can be entered when a case is first created, as well as throughout the life of the case if new causes
are added. However, before a cause of action can be added, the parties associated with the case must first be added under
the Parties tab.
