Case Summary Option Fields
Complete the following fields to set case summary options.
Case Summary Option Fields
Field Name Field Description
Location Click Image to select a location.
Heading Type a heading for the case summary, which will be displayed above the main title. You may want to add the name and title of the person who will be using the case summary.
Title Type a title for the case summary (e.g., Docket Sheet). This information is displayed at the top of the case summary information, just below the heading. This title is also displayed on the Events & Hearings header on the Summary tab. The title you add is used as the link to access the View Case Summary dialog box.
Sections
Field Name Field Description
Font Select the Standard Size option to view the summary in standard font size, or click Large Size to view the summary in an increased font size.
Party Information Select this check box if you want information about the case parties to be displayed on the case summary sheet. If only the Party Information check box is selected, only the party names are displayed along with their connection to the case (e.g., plaintiff). The attorneys’ names are not displayed.
Party Addresses Select this check box to include the current known address for each party.
Party Identification Info Click Image to select the additional elements about each party you want to be displayed such as race, sex, age, and date of birth. This information can only be displayed if it is entered under the party record.
To the right of the Party Identification Info field, click Image to individually select identification criteria to display on the case summary and the Register of Actions in Public Access. There are several identifiers you can add to the case summary, including address, date of birth, driver’s license, height, and more.
To enable the Party Identification Info field, you must select the Party Information check box. You must have the appropriate rights to view any of the data that is selected.
Number of Parties Select one of the following options to determine the number of party names that display on the summary:
•  Select Use Case Style Setup to copy set number of party names defined in Odyssey administration case style setup.
•  Select Use Custom Setup to limit the number of parties to appear and append the standard text if all parties are not displayed (e.g., et al.).
When you select this option, use the # of parties to include to type the number of party names to include in the case summary style. Select All to include all party-type names listed on the case.
Complete the Text to append if there are more parties than those displayed field to append text denoting additional parties are associated with the case (e.g., et al.).
Attorneys If you want the attorney names to be displayed beside the party they are representing, select this check box. After you choose to include attorney names, you can indicate whether you want to view all attorneys or only the lead attorneys for the case.
Active Attorneys Only If you selected the Attorneys check box, select this check box to include only attorneys that have been added or reinstated to the case.
Lead Attorneys Only If you selected the Attorneys check box, select this check box to include only the lead attorneys for the case.
Attorneys Addresses If you selected the Attorneys check box, select this check box to display attorney's addresses on the case summary.
Display Attorney Fax Number If you selected the Attorneys check box, select this check box to display the attorney’s current fax number that is recorded in Odyssey on the Register of Actions/Case Summary. The fax number is designated with an “(F)” beside it and is located under the attorney’s name.
Display Attorney E-mail Address If you selected the Attorneys check box, select this check box to display the attorney’s e-mail address on the Register of Actions.
Case Number History Select this check box if you want to include all previous case numbers used by this case.
Case Status If the this check box is selected, then the case status is displayed on the View Case Summary dialog box, and the following check boxes are enabled.
Status Comments If you selected the Case Status check box, select this check box to display any status comments made about the case in the Case Information section.
Current Status If you selected the Status Comments check box, select this option to display only the current status of the case in the Case Information section.
Status History If you selected the Status Comments check box, select this option to display the entire status history of the case.
Cross Reference Numbers Select this check box if you want to include any cross reference numbers associated with the case.
Related Cases If you want to view the case numbers of related cases, select this check box. The case summary also indicates how the cases are related (e.g., codefendants).
Exclude Secure Cases If you selected the Related Cases check box, select this check box to ensure that no related secure cases are displayed or printed on the case summary.
Case Flags Select this check box if you want the case summary to display any case flags that have been set up for the case under the Detail tab.
Case Flag Comments If you selected the Case Flags check box, select this check box to include any comments that have been added for the case flag. The comments display in italics beneath their related case flag on the View Case Summary dialog box.
Case Assignment Select this check box to configure the system to display the current case assignment information.
No Reassignments If you selected the Case Assignment check box, select this option to only displays the current case assignment without any reassignment information.
Include Reassignments If you selected the Case Assignment check box, select this option to display all case reassignment in the Case Assignment section.
Include Reassignments with Events If you selected the Case Assignment check box, select this option to display case reassignments intermingled with the events in the Events and Hearing section.
Use Timestamp If you selected the Case Assignment check box, select this check box to include the date and time when reassignments were entered.
Show Comments If you selected the Case Assignment check box, select this check box to display comments related to case reassignments on the case summary.
Financial Summary – Case Fees Include case fees activity for the case on the case summary. After selecting this check box, use one of the following options to indicate how much financial detail to include:
•  Select No Transactions option if you only want to view case fee totals (e.g., total charges, total payments) and a balance due.
•  Select Include Trans after Summary option to include each individual case fee transaction to be displayed after the financial totals.
•  Select Include Trans with Events option to show the individual case fee transaction amounts beside the related event in the Events & Orders of the Court section of the case summary.
By selecting the any of the financial summary options, you are choosing display and print a Financial Information section even if no transactions exist on a case.
Financial Summary – Registry Include registry activity for the case on the case summary. After selecting this check box, use one of the following options to indicate how much financial detail to include:
•  Select No Transactions option if you only want to view case fee totals (e.g., total charges, total payments) and a balance due.
•  Select Include Trans after Summary option to include each individual case fee transaction to be displayed after the financial totals.
•  Select Include Trans with Events option to show the individual case fee transaction amounts beside the related event in the Events & Orders of the Court section of the case summary.
By selecting the any of the financial summary options, you are choosing display and print a Financial Information section even if no transactions exist on a case.
Causes of Action If applicable to the selected case, you can select this check box to include information about causes of action that have been entered. The box is not available to you if the selected case does not involve causes of action.
File Date If you selected the Causes of Action check box, select this check box to display the date the cause of action was filed.
Filed By/Against If you selected the Causes of Action check box, select this check box to display the filed by and filed against information on a cause of action.
Remedy Comments If you selected the Causes of Action check box, select this check box to display any comments entered on the Modify Remedies Sought dialog box.
Include Causes of Action with Events If you selected the Causes of Action check box, select this check box to display the date a cause of action was entered as an event along with the cause code and cause of action description.
Offense Details If applicable to the selected case, you can select this check box to view a list of offenses in the case summary. This box is not available to you if the selected case does not involve offenses.
FPN f you selected the Offense Details check box, select this check box to display the fingerprint control number on the case summery.
OBTS and Sequence If you selected the Offense Details check box, select this check box to display the OBTS and sequence numbers on the case summary.
Arrest Control Number If you selected the Offense Details check box, select this check box to display the arrest control number on the case summary.
Citation Number If you selected the Offense Details check box, select this check box if you want the citation numbers to appear on the case summary in the Case Information section.
Arresting Agency If you selected the Offense Details check box, select this check box to display the arresting agency code and description on the Register of Actions in Public Access.
Speeding Details If you selected the Offense Details check box, select this check box to display speeding details on the case summary.
Additional Statutes Select this check box to display the additional statutes associated with offenses.
Suppress “Additional Statutes” Label If you selected the Additional Statutes check box, select this check box to prevent the Additional Statutes label from displaying with the additional statute information on the Public Access Case Summary.
Suppress Degree Information If you selected the Additional Statutes check box, select this check box to prevent the degree information for an additional statute from displaying on the Public Access Case Summary.
Time Standards Select this option to view the Time Standards information section on the View Case Summary dialog box.
Sort If you selected the Time Standards check box, use this drop-down list to sort time standards on a case by either target dates or in reverse order by target dates.
Time Standard Comments If you selected the Time Standards check box, select this check box to display all time standard comments regarding a case.
Show Completed Time Standards If you selected the Time Standards check box, select this check box to display a history of all times standards that were completed on a case.
Events & Orders of the Court
Field Name Field Description
Group by Sections Below If you want the events and orders of the court to be sorted and grouped together under headings (e.g., Events, Hearings, Dispositions), select this check box. If this box is unchecked, all the case events are listed together.
Show Document Index # Select this option to display the document index number associated with an event. Not all events have an associated index number. If the Show Index / Vol & Page check box is also selected, the index displays on the last row.
Show Index/Vol & Page On the Events tab, you can enter information regarding where the actual documents relating to an event are stored (e.g., volume, page number). If you want this information to be displayed on the case summary, select this check box.
Include Statistical Closures with Events Selecting this option displays statistical closures with the corresponding events on the case summary.
Use Timestamp If you selected the Include Statistical Closures with Events check box, select this check box to include date and time information for when the statistical closures were entered.
Sort You can choose how you want the events to be sorted on the case summary. If you choose to group the events by section, the events listed within each section are grouped according to your selection. The following options are available:
•  Select Date if you want the events listed chronologically with the oldest event displayed first.
•  Select Reverse Date if you want the most recent date to be listed first.
Disposition Details If you want disposition information to be included in the case summary, select this check box. When this box is checked, disposition events are included in the list of case events.
Always List First If you selected the Disposition Details check box, select this check box if you want the disposition information to be displayed at the top of the list.
Show Amend Reasons If you selected the Disposition Details check box, select this check box to display the amendment with the plea, disposition, sentence, or judgment.
Differentiate Prior Disp Activities If you selected the Disposition Details check box, select this check box to display one sentence under the multiple charges to which the sentence applies.
Show Judgment Amend History If you selected the Disposition Details check box, select this check box to display the current judgment in with any other current judgments in either chronological or reverse chronological order, and the prior judgments that were amended are pulled under the current judgment much like related events display on the Events tab.
Show Charges with Related Sentence If you selected the Disposition Details check box, select this check box to display charges with related sentences on the case summary.
Hearings Select this check box to include hearing information in the list of case events.
Show Resets If you selected the Hearings check box, select this check box to see rescheduled hearings.
Show Continuances If you selected the Hearings check box, select this check box to see rescheduled hearings.
Show Minutes Detail If you selected the Hearings check box, select this check box to include hearing minutes (results).
Show Result Codes If you selected the Hearings check box, select this check box to display the hearing result codes next to the hearing.
Show Resources If you selected the Hearings check box, select this check box to display the additional resource types associated with a hearing.
Show Parties Present If you selected the Hearings check box, select this check box to display the names of parties that were present at a hearing on the case summary.
Show Hearing Activity Event If you selected the Hearings check box, select this check box to display hearings that are scheduled, rescheduled, or canceled on the case summary.
Show Notice History If selected, displays information regarding case notice history on the Case Summary page. Notice history information includes the date the notice was sent, by whom it was prepared, the receiving party, and the receiving party’s address. The hearing notice history displays under the Events & Orders of the Court section on the Case Summary page.
Events Select this check box if you want to view events that were entered under the Events tab. When you select this check box, choose one of the following options:
•  Select Show Related Events to display related events. Related events are shown indented below the original event to show the connection.
•  Select Show Chronological/Related Events to display related events in a chronological order on the case summary.
Event Comments If you selected the Events check box, select this check box to view comments that were entered for each event.
Non-Docketable Events If you selected the Events check box, docketable events are automatically included in the case summary. Select this check box if you want to include non-docketable events as well.
Show Deleted Events If you selected the Events check box, select this check box to include events that have been deleted from the case.
Include Charge Descriptions If you selected the Events check box, select this check box to include charge descriptions on the case summary.
Papers Issued/Served You can choose to include a list of papers that have been issued and served.
Show as Multiple Events If you selected the Papers Issued/Served check box, select this check box to include dates that papers were issues and served.
Show Requested By If you selected the Papers Issued/Served check box, select this check box to display parties requesting service for a filing on the case summary. You must have the ServiceRequestParty feature enabled on your system in order to access this option.
Show Service Tracking Details If you selected the Papers Issued/Served check box, select this check box to display tracking details such as service time, anticipated server, serving officer, etc. on the case summary.
Show Anticipated Method If you selected the Papers Issued/Served check box, select this check box to display the anticipated service method on the case summary.
Warrants Issued/Served If applicable to the selected case, you can choose to include a list of warrants that have been issued and served as well as the warrant status in the Case Information section. If the case does not involve warrants, this box is not accessible to you.
Bond Information Select this check box to include any bond activity on the summary.
Show Additional Bond Details If you selected the Bond Information check box, select this check box to include the arrest date, jail release date, court dates, and conditions.
Interim Condition Details Displays any interim conditions imposed for each party (during this case history). This information is sorted by party name.
Placements Select this check box to include a section to display placement information on the case summary. When you select this check box, choose one of the following options:
•  Select Current Placement to display the current placement on the case summary.
•  Select Placement History to display the placement history on the case summary.
