Calendars, Schedules, and Sessions
When working in Odyssey, you have the option to view court calendars, resource schedules, and court sessions.
A calendar displays all the defined court sessions that have been defined, including a summary of what can be scheduled for the court sessions. Before any scheduling can occur, a calendar must be created by a person with system administrator access. A calendar may or may not have resources associated with it. When viewing a calendar, only that calendar's sessions and the information for any associated resources are displayed.
A resource schedule displays all commitments for available resources. A resource is anyone or anything that is necessary and should be scheduled for a hearing (e.g., judge, bailiff, court reporter, or audio visual equipment). A schedule is not created by a user; rather it is a virtual representation of everything that is scheduled for one resource, included the time the resource is unavailable.
A court session is a block of time that defines the nature of court business to be used for scheduling events. The setup for a court session defines when the session takes place, which case categories and hearing types can be heard during that time, how the hearings proceed, and the capacity limit for the session (e.g., number of hearings). As session is also associated with specific resources (e.g., specific location, court officials).
